
Supervisory Technical Information Specialist

**Duties**:
- Engage in strategic planning and ensures that business goals are being met.
- Conduct regular outreach and evaluation activities with customers, partners, and stakeholders to more effectively and serve the worldwide body of users.
- Promote, publicize, and explain services and activities through well -coordinated web-based communications, formal presentations, personal contacts, and other means of communication.
- Coordinate the implementation of advanced IT solutions to optimize the provision of specialized Web-based information programs, products, and services.
- Develop and implement strategies and management guidelines for complex and changing products and services.
- Identify and translate strategic issues, concerns, trends, and policies into effective information programs and partnerships.
- Lead in the development and implementation of new training and information programs, products, and services critical to the researcher, practitioner, and consumer community.

**GS-13**:
**Specialized Experience**: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-13 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-12 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience planning, evaluating, and implementing nutrition or food safety programs; understanding scientific research, developing web content and training related to food safety or nutrition for researchers, professionals, policy makers, and general public; and conducting public and research outreach activities related to nutrition or food safety.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
