Hummingbird Bioscience is a precision biotherapeutics company discovering and developing transformative biologics for hard-to-treat diseases. To address key challenges with current antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapies, Hummingbird Bioscience is building a pipeline of next-generation ADCs using its proprietary antibody discovery and linker/payload platforms. The company has a pipeline of ADCs in preclinical development and other novel biologics including monoclonal antibodies, HMBD-001 (anti-HER3 mAb) and HMBD-002 (anti-VISTA mAb) in Phase I and a recently out-licensed ADC (HMBD-501) that will enter the clinic this year. The Hummingbird Bioscience approach combines computational and systems biology with wet lab drug discovery in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment spanning initial discovery through clinical development. The company harnesses this integrated approach across target identification and patient selection, enabling the team to increase the efficiency of translating novel scientific insights while reducing the inherent risk in drug discovery and development. **ABOUT THE ROLE**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Execute project critical cell culture work from thaw, scale-up, flask/bioreactor inoculation, fed-batch process in flask/bioreactors, and harvest of cell culture
- Execute routine cell culture handlings for various CHO cell types and maintaining upstream analytical instruments such as NOVA Flex, Cedex Bio Analyzer, BGA, Octet or VCD/Viability Analyzer
- Perform protein purification using affinity purification, ion exchange purification, and gel-filtration purification on an AKTA system
- Author protocol, study reports and documents for technical transfer and regulatory filings
- Conduct data analysis, interpret data and accurately document and communicate results
- Liaise with external and internal stakeholders as necessary to execute projects
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and perform under pressure

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor/Master of Science with 2-4-years of relevant experience
- Experience with CHO expression systems; from thaw, passage, scale-up to bioreactor systems and maintaining fed-batch cultures
- Experience with glass/stainless steel/disposal bioreactor systems is strongly preferred
- Strong competence and confidence in aseptic techniques and BSC work

**DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience in Cell-Line Development work; from transfection, pool establishment, clone isolation, selection and stability studies
- Experience in routine purification of IgG/IgG-like molecules using an AKTA Pure or equivalent systems
- Experience in affinity purification, ion-exchange purification, gel-filtration, viral inactivation and depth filtration work
