The Research Associate is expected to work well in a collaborative inter-institute environment. The Research Associate will be given opportunities and is expected to design and execute experiments independently. The Research Associate is also expected to interpret experimental results together with other project members, and coauthor papers in high-quality journals in areas that are related to the research.

The Research Associate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and should have a strong passion and commitment to science. The Research Associate will also work closely with the Principal Investigators to help and train students/junior lab members and to ensure smooth functioning of an active research program. The Research Associate will have the opportunity to explore his/her own interests across functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Derivation, characterization and optimization of neural progenitor cells from human induced pluripotent stem cells for in vitro cell manufacturing
- Evaluation of cell-scaffold interactions in vitro

Job Requirements:

- Molecular Biology (Western blot, immunostaining, quantitative PCR etc)
- Mammalian cell culture (experience with induced pluripotent stem cells and/or adult stem cells preferred)
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant research lab experience
- Creativity to solve challenging technical problems with uncertainty
- Good communication skills to work with researchers from biological / clinical backgrounds
- Good writing skills in preparing reports, conference and journal publications
- Able and committed to work in Singapore.
- Strong ability to perform self-directed work.
- Strong organizational skills and proactive personality with outstanding motivation, creativity, critical and analytical thinking skills, strong scientific commitment and ability to work as a team.
