As a construction quality control manager, your job is to inspect a project before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with all safety and quality specifications. To accomplish this, you develop and maintain a quality control (QC) plan, create documents and forms to track your findings, and supervise most construction work. You may also represent your company in any matters, legal or otherwise, related to quality. You also conduct audits on projects and paperwork, assist project managers with developing construction plans, evaluate and track noncompliance with safety plans, and perform other tasks to ensure an injury-free workplace.
Maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant parties such as architects and engineers Ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget guidelines Ensuring that project managers are adequately trained and have the necessary resources to complete their tasks Reviewing blueprints, sketches, and other plans for compliance with applicable building codes Making sure that all work performed meets industry standards for quality Reviewing bids from contractors to determine which ones will be awarded contracts Managing a team of construction inspectors, ensuring that they are performing their jobs effectively Reviewing contractor bids for accuracy and adherence to building codes and specifications Inspecting work sites to ensure that projects are being performed according to plans
Serve as the liaison between construction site management and quality control personnel Oversee all aspects of quality control on assigned construction projects Ensure that all materials used and work performed meet applicable codes, standards, and specifications Develop and implement quality control programs Plan and coordinate all quality control activities Monitor compliance with quality control policies and procedures Investigate and resolve all quality control issues Prepare quality control reports Train and mentor quality control staff Keep abreast of latest developments in quality control methods and technologies Attend project meetings Perform other duties as required
