Roles & Responsibilities
**Role Description**:
A Finance Business Analyst helps companies and teams make the most of their finances. They collaborate with financial reporting and IT teams to develop initiatives and strategies that optimise costs and improve internal and external reporting. Finance Business Analysts conduct market analyses, analysing both product lines and the overall profitability of the business. In addition, they develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met. Strong technology, analytical and communication skills are must-have traits.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
Individual to be involved in:
1. Perform financial analysis calculations, conduct cost-benefit analysis and present findings for further evaluation
2. Recommend parameters, prepare and analyse financial forecasts, implement and manage budget plans and monitor budget outcomes
3. Determine financial needs, formulate financial strategies and plans and evaluate current budgeting and forecasting methodologies to identify opportunities for cost control, revenue improvement and margin enhancement
4. Review financial statements and ratios determine financial implications and review cost-benefit analysis
**Competencies**:
1. Stakeholders to discuss and negotiate cost allocation and targets with significant issues pertaining to budgets
2. Evaluate current budgeting and forecasting methodologies to identify cost control, revenue improvement and margin enhancement
3. Analyse short and long-term financial implications for the business units to facilitate management decision-making
**Duration of Traineeships**: 6 months
**Approved Training Allowance**: Mature Mid-Career Individuals - $3,800
