Technical Specialist

BC Platforms is a global leader in genomic data management, providing a comprehensive suite of software solutions to some of the world's largest biotech and pharmaceutical companies. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a talented Technical Specialist in Cloud to join our team.

**The role**:
The Technical Specialist is being brought in during an exciting and pivotal time of growth for BC Platforms. As we partner with organizations looking to rapidly develop effective treatments, improve patient outcomes, and build novel approaches to healthcare; our deployment footprint is scaling rapidly. We build our software to serve the needs of our valued customers, and repeatable, quality deployments are key to our joint success. A Bachelor's in computer science and your 3-years of experience building production system architecture in the cloud is the baseline for the role. Experience with Kubernetes, GitLab, and REST APIs is considered a plus.

This role offers tremendous opportunities for professional development in a quickly growing company. The Technical Specialist will report directly to the VP of Technical Delivery as part of the Deployments team and will be responsible for executing rapid, high-quality, customer deliveries.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Iterating upon, customizing, and executing delivery pipelines according to customer needs.
- Partnering with DevOps and Engineering to build new delivery pipelines to support our expanding pool of customer solutions.
- Be the trusted adviser and technical authority to the customer for solution architecture, integration decisions, and the technical delivery process.
- Build customer-facing technical documentation and diagrams.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to provide prompt and high-quality workarounds and solutions.

**Knowledge, experience and capabilities**:

- Formal education and professional experience:_
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience building and maintaining production system architecture in the cloud.
- Important operational experience:_
- Proficiency in building and maintaining systems using infrastructure as code and Kubernetes.
- Experience interacting with cloud-native environments using tools such as Kubectl or K9s.
- Understanding of how cloud-native systems should be architected to optimize security and performance.
- Familiarity with SSO solutions and how to integrate with cloud architecture.
- Ability to build comprehensive documentation and advise customer technology groups on cloud architecture, delivery models, and maintenance.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud service capabilities and cloud network topology.
- Proficiency in using Gitlab or similar code repositories collaboratively.
- Nice to have:_
- Demonstrated proficiency with specific tools: Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, Keycloak, Sysdig, and/or Gitlab CI/CD.
- Example of cloud native architecture you have designed or maintained.
- Experience advising on use of, troubleshooting, and maintaining REST APIs.
- Proficiency with object oriented programming languages such as Javascript or Python.
- Ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with Engineering teams.
- Knowledge of how to incorporate vulnerability scanning into cloud native maintenance plans.

**Additional Information**
The position is available as a hybrid-remote position for those that are located in Singapore. The company operates with a Hybrid Work Model, which consists of both working from the office as well as remotely from the home office where applicable.
