The Strategic Pricing Manager is responsible for co-developing and governing the APAC Pricing Strategy by working in close collaboration with Marketing, Sales and Finance. The role guides commercial stakeholders in how to bring Pricing Strategy into Execution and inspires with creating relevant Pricing Frameworks
The APAC Strategic Pricing Manager is a key role supporting APAC Regional and Market stakeholders in driving the organization’s maturity in Strategic Pricing Management & Execution. This position leads transformative pricing strategies tied to brand strategy to maintain industry competitiveness and drive long term profitable growth.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Experienced in dealing with different theories of Pricing Strategy (from cost-plus to competitive based to Value Based Pricing and Solution Selling)
- Strong management, organizational and follow-through skill set
- Strategic thinker with a strong orientation to detail and execution
- Passionate in guiding commercial teams in Pricing Strategy Execution and implementation planning
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to build alignment without direct authority
- Ability to work independently in a diverse and challenging environment, successfully handling multiple priorities and delivery against tight deadlines
- Strong business acumen skills and skills appropriate for management level communication (oral & written)
- Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines both working autonomously and within a team
- Thorough understanding of Sales, Sales Operations, and all Marketing programs/promotions in relation to Pricing
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels of the organization, create interdepartmental links based on different projects with a respective level of integrity
- Be a team player with the ability to be both part of, create and lead teams
- Excellent MS Office skills, namely Excel & PowerPoint
**Work Environment**:
- Office based (some remote working)
- Prolonged sitting in front of a computer
- Occasional conference calls with various groups in different time zones
- Ability to travel as required
**Experience**:
- 10+ years in Pricing Management, Sales Excellence, Commercial Operations, Commercial Finance, or similar capacity
- Highly credible and able to influence at all seniority levels. Comfortable challenging the status quo.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change across multiple sites and matrix groups
- Pricing and Change Management experience skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly organized and can work self-directed
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, finance, or equivalent, required
- Advanced degree or certification in pricing related discipline, highly desirable
- MBA preferred
- Define and lead the Execution of the Strategic Pricing Agenda for CooperVision APAC to support sustainable growth.
- Co-develop (Global, Regional and Market teams) a pricing framework in-line with the Marketing brand price architecture, evolving over time in sophistication.
- Consult and partner with Marketing (Regional and Market teams) to provide the Pricing Strategy within an agreed framework, which will be the starting point of this role.
- Responsible for translating Brand Price Strategy into guidance for Commercial leaders and cross-functional areas.
- Lead the creation of data tools to monitor pricing execution in cooperation with the SalesOps Analytics Manager.
- Establish governance processes and criteria and ways of working to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and lead agile and scalable pricing processes to support new product Pricing execution and the consideration of competitive pricing.
- Provide guidance and share best practices on Strategic Pricing Management between commercial teams in the Region.
- Lead market counterparts in translating Pricing Strategy into practice in close partnership with Sales.
- Interprets Market Research Data when it comes to the impact of Pricing on market share and competitive dynamics and makes suggestions to translate insights into practice.
- Monitor Pricing Strategies across the Product / Brand Lifecyle and defines improvements in Pricing governance.
- Support APAC GMs, Sales Leaders and their teams in all areas of Strategic Pricing execution, communication, and training as appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement in Strategic pricing management process and practices
- Work in close collaboration with Pricing Analysis and Pricing Development Manager to support the common goal of sustainable growth.
