Role Summary: The role of the Business Development Manager (BDM) will focus on developing channel partner programs and driving accelerated bookings, income, and improved margins.

The Business Development Manager will also support Distribution sales to drive growth via channel partner programs. This role involves close communication and collaboration with the local and regional sales teams, operations and commercial operations teams.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

- This position will work closely with Channel Partners, Flowserve sales teams, Commercial Operations teams, Product management, Marketing and Operations to define & develop areas of bookings growth opportunities through third party channels.
- The BDM will develop and prioritize programs, product & market opportunities, initiatives and manage through execution and implementation to drive success
- Develop, monitor and report distribution performance metrics
- Develop distribution inventory programs and inventory management metrics
- Lead the development of a strategic plan for distribution channel which identifies markets served, competition, market level pricing, potential markets and product needs.
- Responsible for regional forecasting
- Support Distribution Playbook deployment
- Identify key growth strategies within existing product portfolio and recommend development of products or services
- Work with operations, sales, marketing and technical staff to develop and manage products, programs and services to increase market share and maximize bookings
- Develop commercial programs and sale generation programs and leads selling tools and training to increase market share and maximize bookings
- Present to and consult management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products and channel strategies that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Coordination of global strategy with any other Business Development personnel linked to Distribution and relevant functions.
- Attainment of the annual bookings plan for the region.
- Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience / Skills:

- Travel and be away from home 50% of the time
- Broad based flow control industry related experience and knowledge preferred
- Computer skills including spreadsheets, presentation programs, and Salesforce CRM experience preferred
- Advanced sales and business development experience and skillset
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills
- Strong analytical and solution positioning skills
- Challenger methodology to tailor introduction of new practices and value creation
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Requires strategic thinking, resourcefulness, and planning, coupled with a drive to always succeed
- Must be self-starting and provide the necessary structure, organization, planning, and effort to accomplish regional Distribution business objectives of the corporation
- Respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Communicate effectively through personal contact, presentations, correspondence, etc.
- Communicate effectively with channel partner customers and Flowserve business units, at various organizational levels
- Engineering or business degree and 6 - 10 years of relevant experience
