The company is opening its Singapore operation and with it, is looking to provide services to clients in Singapore and the wider asia pacific region.

The Role

The Specialist Risk Asia Pacific, a subsidiary of Specialist Risk Group (SRG) is seeking to hire an experienced Business Development Manager, Southeast Asia to join their growing business.

This role's objective is to support the Head of Business Development with expanding our footprint into the Indochina region market or into the Southeast Asian markets.

Key Responsibilities

As the Business Development Managerfor the Indochina region OR Southeast Asian market(s), you will play a pivotal role in expanding our footprint and driving revenue growth. Key responsibilities include:

1) Market Development:

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Indochina region

Build and nurture strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, including corporates, SMEs, and other stakeholders

Analyse market trends: Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and threats. To advise SRG Senior Management team on potential opportunities within serviced markets (focus on Indochina region and other Southeast Asian territories)

2) Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute strategies to achieve business growth targets

Provide market insights and contribute to the development of customised broking solutions

3) Sales Execution:

Drive client acquisition efforts through tailored pitches and negotiations

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver effective proposals and solutions

4) Client Relationship Management:

Act as the primary point of contact for Indochina-based clients

Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention by understanding their evolving needs

5) Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements and company policies. Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities and results to senior management

Candidate Requirement

1) Strong understanding of the insurance landscape in Indochina, including key players and market trends

2) Proven track record in client acquisition and relationship management

3) Strategic thinking and a results-driven approach

4) Strong communication skills and an ability to deal with complex situations calmly and constructively

5) Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively

A commercial pragmatic approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment

A good understanding of both broking and underwriting businesses and delegated authorities

Strong, demonstrable knowledge of legislation and regulation applicable to SRG

Proficiency in English is required. Fluency in other Southeast Asian language is highly advantageous
