Climate Impact X (CIX) is a Singapore-based global carbon exchange and marketplace that aims to scale the voluntary carbon market; through a joint venture by DBS, SGX, Standard Chartered and Temasek.

CIX offers distinct platforms and products that cater to the needs of different carbon credit buyers and sellers. The Exchange facilitates the sale of large-scale high-quality carbon credits through standardised contracts - catering primarily to MNCs and institutional investors. The Project Marketplace and Auction offer a curated selection of NCS projects that can meet corporate sustainability objectives. Each project on the Project Marketplace and Auction is supported by transparent impact, risk and pricing data.

**Originator**:
CIX is looking for an originator who will be accountable for driving the CIX supply strategy, engaging with suppliers and supporting them in listing their credits on one of CIX's platforms; evaluating projects against CIX's quality criteria; and facilitating transactions on CIX's platforms. The Originator will be primarily focussed on working with sellers and developing those relationships, and where necessary, support buyer engagements as well.

The role will be based in Singapore as part of a global Commercial team reporting directly to Commercial Director (Origination).

**Key responsibilities**:

- Establish, manage, and grow relationships with existing and new sellers of quality carbon credits to drive delivery of CIX's supply strategy to build a long-term supply pipeline.
- Develop and facilitate commercial arrangements for various types of carbon credits with sellers (including conservation bodies, project developers, brokers, traders and governments).
- Understand the main business drivers of current and potential sellers, helping define the value of potential solutions, demonstrating an understanding of the seller needs and product development to capture the imagination and interest of sellers.
- Shape and where required, develop CIX's quality requirements for carbon credits in consultation with the Technical Director and other internal & external stakeholders. Conduct due diligence on carbon projects to ensure that these projects meet CIX's quality and policy requirements prior to onboarding.
- Perform market analysis of the global voluntary carbon market, including supply & demand; and pricing & market trends to support CIX internal decision making.
- Stay current on market developments, identifying new regulation/legislation and industry trends, products, developments in voluntary and compliance carbon markets, converting into new trading/revenue opportunities
- Work alongside a dynamic global team of commercial and product managers to attract new clients and drive revenue growth.
- Actively engage the Operation, Product, Legal and Compliance departments to ensure thorough risk management, trade execution, post-trade discipline and the overall quality control is maintained.

**Key requirements**:

- At least 8 years' of work experience, ideally with 3 - 5 years' experience in carbon markets: business and partnership development, origination, procurement, or broker role; with a strong track record of delivery and relationship management.
- Ideally, specific experience in the primary carbon market space; carbon project development; and/or experience working with an international carbon standards body, registry, or a VVB; with a strong grasp of market dynamics in the carbon market (compliance and/or voluntary).
- Entrepreneurial and commercial mindset; willing to do what it takes to engage potential suppliers to create opportunities and work within CIX to get them done
- Passion for sustainability and CIX's mission of scaling the voluntary carbon market
- Sense of responsibility with willingness to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile and lean environment; experience in a start-up environment preferred
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Degree in Environmental Studies; Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
