**Your role**

This role will be responsible for overseeing and leading all commercial aspects of the Retail Optical Singapore business, including strategy, sales, marketing, business development, customer relations, key commercial projects, and maintaining optometry excellence. This role requires an innovative leader with strong business acumen, leadership skills & strategic agility. Experience in the optical and/or retail industry is preferred.

**Main responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Leadership**: Develop and execute the overall commercial strategy for the optical business, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and vision.
- **Sales Management**: Lead and oversee the sales teams to achieve business targets, including new customer acquisition and revenue growth. Develop sales plans, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure their achievement.
- **Business Development**: Identify new business opportunities and channels to grow the optical business via retail expansion, partnerships or other opportunities
- **Commercial Projects**:

- Lead and oversee key commercial projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are aligned with overall business objectives.
- Track and report on the progress of commercial projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the desired business outcomes.
- Identify potential risks and issues related to commercial projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure all commercial projects are aligned with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the company’s brand values.
- **Optometry Excellence**:

- Lead initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, customer satisfaction, and patient care, ensuring the company provides exceptional vision health services.
- Champion optometry excellence by ensuring that the business maintains the highest standards of optometric care and customer service.
- **Team Leadership & Development**: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing commercial team, driving collaboration and ensuring professional growth.
- **Market Analysis**: Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, product offerings, and innovations, adjusting commercial strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.**:

- **Budget & Financial Oversight**: Manage the commercial budget, monitor financial performance, and optimize resources for maximum profitability. Report on financial outcomes and forecasts
- **Regulatory & Compliance**: Ensure the business operates in full compliance with all relevant industry regulations, standards, and laws governing the optical and retail sectors

**Main requirements**:

- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Business, Optometry, or a related field.
- **Experience**: 8+ years of experience in a commercial role within the optical and/or retail industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership position. Direct experience in optometry and retail environments is a plus.
- **Leadership Skills**: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, develop talent, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- **Project Management Expertise**: Demonstrated experience managing complex commercial projects with cross-functional teams, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- **Strategic Thinking**: Strong strategic and business development mindset with a track record of delivering growth and profitability.
- **Sales & Marketing Expertise**: Deep understanding of optical products, customer needs, and the sales process.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- **Financial Acumen**: Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
