The role of a Youth Care Worker involves providing support and care to young individuals with complex trauma. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Caregivers will be responsible for supervising residents in their daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • They will also assist residents with day-to-day issues, provide individual therapeutic interventions based on care plans developed by treatment teams, and promote discipline among residents.
  • A key aspect of this role is being a mentor/role model, inspiring positive change in the lives of young individuals.
  • Caregivers must be able to respond effectively to crises or conflicts, assessing situations to provide the necessary support.
  • In addition, they will participate in providing physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social needs of residents.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have experience working with youth at-risk and possess basic processing and counselling skills.
  • Knowledge of common issues and disorders related to trauma and abuse is essential for this role.
  • Candidates must be able to work on 3-shift rotations, including weekends and public holidays.
