Venue Maintenance & Gardening Assistant

As a Venue Maintenance & Gardening Assistant, you will be reporting to Ida's Head of Events & Charlotte Puxlet Flowers' Studio Manager to ensure the floral studio, event gallery, and surrounding areas are well-maintained, clean, and welcoming. This role involves supporting the upkeep of the venue, assisting with plant care and gardening tasks, and helping to create an inviting environment for customers and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Venue Maintenance
    • Carry out general upkeep of the floral studio, event gallery & courtyard (cleaning, minor repairs, furniture setup).
    • Ensure fixtures, fittings, and equipment are in good working condition, reporting issues promptly.
    • Assist with setup and takedown of decorations, furniture, and floral installations for events.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse, tools, and supplies.
    • Must possess a valid Class 3 driving license.
  • Gardening & Plant Care
    • Water, prune, and repot plants as required, ensuring they remain healthy and presentable.
    • Maintain outdoor areas, including sweeping, weeding, and tidying green spaces.
    • Monitor plant health, flagging pests or diseases to the florist team.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, or general maintenance preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plant care and use of gardening tools.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work (lifting, bending, outdoor tasks).
  • Attention to detail and pride in keeping spaces clean and inviting.

Working Hours:

  • Part-time (including weekends, depending on studio / event schedule).

Work Environment:

  • Based in a florist shop and event space, with indoor and outdoor tasks.
