What the role is The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) is the lead agency driving Singapore’s Smart Nation initiatives and public sector digital transformation. As the Centre of Excellence for Infocomm Technology and Smart Systems (ICT & SS), GovTech develops the Singapore Government’s capabilities in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Application Development, Smart City Technology, Digital Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity. This is an individual contributor position and the candidate will report directly to the Director of Product Strategy and Ops. Who we are The Product Strategy Office’s mission is to enable GovTech to build great products, at scale, to maximise the public good. We chart GovTech’s overall product direction to solve national priority problems, act as a consultant for GovTech’s products, and do whatever it takes—including getting our hands dirty to empower and PM with teams, to validate and execute our product strategy. What you will be working on Top‑down strategy, hypothesis development and execution—drive the development of an overall product strategy, identify large problem areas, t‑shirt size solutions, develop hypotheses and assumptions, and de‑risk the biggest risks (e.g., modular enterprise platform products and data products). Improving products—work as a consultant to refine product thinking through product one‑pagers and influence teams to co‑create go‑to‑market plans that improve product impact and efficiency. Bottom‑up best practices and policy development—amplify best product practices, prove them out, and co‑create consistent and quality product practices (e.g., common tools, ways‑of‑working), review funding frameworks and regulations to unblock obstacles while encouraging greater innovation. What we are looking for Technical knowledge in product management, including discerning realistic technical requirements and setting the right outcome metrics; experience in enterprise, backend and data products a plus. Hunger to learn, energized by large, ambiguous problem spaces, and able to independently break them down into workable chunks. Strong communicator in written, slides or spoken form, with good stakeholdering skills. VC, corporate/business strategy, government experience a plus.
