Electrical Management Role

The technical lead for electrical engineering disciplines ensures the quality and safety of designs, ensuring timely delivery while controlling costs.

  • Direct technical services to manage project scope, focusing on design basis preparation and execution, design/safety/operations reviews, procurement of equipment, factory acceptance tests, vendor selection, and issue resolution.
  • Act as a project's technical expert in the electrical discipline, approving deviations from requirements after discussion with department managers. Engage relevant stakeholders for review and approval if necessary.
  • Investigate proposed technical deviations, ensuring they do not compromise safety but optimize design, improve availability, and reduce project costs without impacting timely delivery.
  • Ensure risks associated with technical deviations are properly documented and kept at a low level.
  • Lead the development of design scope, ensuring all related deliverables follow applicable codes, standards, project, and corporate requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering-related reviews, including design reviews, hazard identification, and other standard reviews.
  • Align electrical interfaces, directing contractors' design efforts considering safety, start-up, cost, and constructability impacts.
  • Establish professional work relationships with contractors, representing interests and directing technical queries and interpretation of scope, specifications, and standards.
  • Maintain an overview of project electrical capability, highlighting critical resourcing issues to the manager.
  • Participate in project assurance reviews and audits, ensuring findings are effectively closed out.
  • Provide technical guidance and prepare electrical specific elements for tenders, procurement activities, and bid evaluation.
