Electrical Discipline Lead Position

The Electrical Discipline Lead is accountable for the technical integrity of electrical engineering activities within the project, ensuring safe, cost-efficient, and on-time design development.
- Lead a team of electrical engineers to develop design scope, ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and corporate requirements, and coordinate all engineering-related reviews.
- Be responsible for providing direction to the technical services in the Electrical engineering elements of the project scope, including Design Basis, EPIC scope preparation and execution, design/safety/operations reviews, procurement of equipment, factory acceptance test, vendor selection, and timely resolution of technical and engineering issues.
- Have the authority to approve deviations from DEM-1 requirements, subject to discussion with Department Assistant Managers and obtaining their consent.
- Ensure that risks associated with technical deviations are as low as reasonably possible (ALARP) and properly documented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an overview of the project's electrical discipline capability, highlighting critical resourcing issues to the Engineering Manager.
- Participate in Project Assurance reviews and Audits, ensuring findings are effectively closed out.
- Provide technical guidance during engineering stages of the project, monitoring the implementation of QA/QC processes to achieve deliverables and facilities that meet project requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university; a higher degree would be advantageous.
- Membership of a relevant recognized professional engineering association/institution is preferable.
- A minimum of 15 years' experience in Electrical design in Oil & Gas Industry, with an Oil & Gas Company or Contractor/Consultant, of which at least 10 years should have been in offshore Oil & Gas processing projects.
- Familiarity with Shell DEP's and other international design codes and standards.
- Familiarity with Electrical ETAP software and design review.
- Proven ability to manage respective discipline engineering team in a major project environment.
