Job Description

Care Corner is seeking a skilled Counsellor/Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide casework and counselling services for families, with the goal of achieving healthy family functioning.

You will work closely with clients to identify and assess risks inherent in low-moderate complex cases, and provide support through groupwork interventions and workshops.

As a Practice Supervisor, you will provide programme, practice/clinical and administrative supervision to Counsellor/Social Workers and/or interns, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to manage cases effectively.

In addition, you will co-lead research projects to build domain-specific knowledge in the local context, and contribute to quality practice and professional matters within the agency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide casework and counselling services for families
  • Identify and assess risks inherent in low-moderate complex cases
  • Support Programme & Workshops: plan, review and facilitate groupwork intervention for parents and children, facilitate premarital and divorce related programmes and workshops
  • Supervisory & Appraisal: provide programme, practice/clinical and administrative supervision, lead and guide counsellor/social worker to case manage and conduct case conference
  • Research & Practice: co-lead with Senior Counsellor in research, demonstrate and contribute to quality practice and professional matters, implementation of standard of care, organisational policies and procedures
  • Network & Advocacy: plan and conduct networking and advocacy sessions with partners/stakeholders and in the community

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master Degree in Counselling or Bachelor Degree in Social Work (preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling)
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant casework / counselling experience in education, counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshop
  • Accredited member of SASW and/or clinical member of SAC
