You will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the western regional sales team. The primary objective of the role is to maximize performance as measured by revenue growth, gross margin and utilization improvement, achieving EBITDA goals, and team member engagement and retention. You will also be responsible for improving overall sales force effectiveness and productivity, developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and recruiting and developing highly capable and engaged sales team members. Drive performance by managing direct reports through ongoing review and coaching of all sales activities. Elevate team performance by actively sharing knowledge and contributing to team development. Ensure adherence to the Sales Governance and Sales Management Process (SMP). Stay current with industry and competitive research to develop the team and position Bumper to Bumper to support customer business objectives. Provide competitive intelligence to help sales teams develop counter strategies to neutralize competitive influence on buying decisions. Understand the overall strategic direction and portfolio and assist sales teams in customizing solutions based on customer needs. Contribute to enduring relationships at the highest levels of the customer’s organization; interact with executives and establish credibility with key business contacts. Act as a point of escalation and collaborate with other functions to resolve high-complexity customer issues in support of requirements. Support the Talent Review process to ensure top talent is identified and effectively utilized. Identify and remove barriers to support team performance, ensuring individual and group excellence. Challenge current methods, pursue process improvements, and develop new solutions; new solutions may be adopted nationally within Bumper to Bumper as a new business practice. Ensure HR policies and practices are adhered to. Lead annual budgeting and financial processes with adherence to margin guidelines. Forecast day revenue and profit values accurately. Lead the professional development and training of the regional sales force. Assist the Director of Sales Operations and the Vice President of Member Sales with development and implementation of the regional sales plan. Consult with leaders to set priorities and action plans to achieve objectives as set out in the regional sales plan. Establish sales budgets and customer territory lists for each Sales Representative in the region. Ensure customer growth, market share and EBITDA growth targets are met. Review monthly progress to budget for each sales representative. Provide feedback and coaching, and take corrective action as required to address performance gaps. Ensure the company’s policies and standards of conduct are understood and adhered to. Liaise with top 50 customers/prospects within the region. Collaborate with Branch Managers, Customer Service Manager and Sales Representatives to meet customer needs. Perform other Regional Sales Manager duties as required by the organization. Expertise & Essential Skills College diploma in Sales or Marketing minor. 5-7 years of sales management experience. Bilingual in French and English, written and oral communications. Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to manage a team; proven decision-making within defined limits. High attention to detail, highly organized, ability to multi-task, and strong communication skills. Ability to manage budgets and reports. Established track record of achieving revenue and profit targets. Exceptional client-facing skills: ability to build trust, strong negotiation and dispute resolution, and service excellence. Proven strategic planning and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Energetic, innovative and results driven. Local and national travel up to 75% annually required. Experience in the automotive aftermarket parts and equipment industry (an asset).
