Job Title: Crewing Officer

Crewing Officers play a vital role in the maritime industry by ensuring that seafarers are recruited and managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit seafarers through collaboration with crewing agencies and manage the onboarding process to ensure timely deployment.
  • Coordinate interview arrangements for senior officers with respective department heads to ensure smooth decision-making processes.
  • Review seafarers' certification and arrange medical examinations as required by charterers to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Validate seafarers' certification with relevant authorities and handle Flag State license applications to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Ensure validity of seafarers' documents/certificates and maintain accurate records in the crewing system to facilitate efficient operations.
  • Monitor compliance of vessels with minimum safe manning standards to ensure safety at sea.
  • Work with manning and port agents to manage crew changes, including visa processing and flight arrangements, to minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain updated crew rotation plans, schedules, and crew lists to optimize resource allocation.
  • Track expiration of seafarers' certificates and documents to prevent delays and ensure continuity.
  • Ensure timely completion, signing, and uploading of crew appraisal reports into the crewing system to facilitate performance evaluations.
  • Submit crew sign-on/off information via the MPA DigitPort portal for Singapore-flagged vessels to maintain accurate records.
  • Check and validate crew-related invoices to prevent errors and ensure financial accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma in any discipline to provide a solid foundation for professional growth.
  • At least 1 year of crewing/manning experience within the maritime industry to demonstrate expertise.
  • Pleasant, mature personality with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to build effective relationships.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to take initiative to drive results and achieve goals.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Able to multitask and work independently to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
