Tour Consultant Role Overview

As a key member of our travel team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by providing expert advice and guidance on various travel-related matters.

  • Conduct thorough research to identify and recommend the best travel options that cater to clients' preferences and budget constraints.
  • Utilize your excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and provide personalized recommendations on destinations, transportation, accommodations, tours, and attractions.
  • Provide guidance on travel requirements such as visas, insurance, and health precautions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey for clients.
  • Craft customized itineraries based on clients' needs and preferences, ensuring that their travel goals are met.
  • Make reservations for restaurants, tours, and other activities, taking into account clients' interests and preferences.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns, exceeding expectations at every touchpoint.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of client files and travel documents efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, promotions, and new travel products to provide informed recommendations to clients.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

Key Requirements and Qualifications
  • Relevant certification or training in travel planning, such as a degree or diploma in travel and tourism, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using computer reservations systems (CRS) like Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo is essential.
  • Familiarity with travel-related software applications and tools is necessary to stay ahead in the industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin are required to interact with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities are crucial to managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently as well as part of a team is essential.
  • Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays, is required to meet client demands.
  • Willingsness to lead tours overseas as a tour leader is an added advantage.

This role involves extended periods of sitting or standing, occasional light lifting, and carrying of travel documents or materials. The primary work environment is an office setting with regular participation in travel events, tours, and industry conferences.
