Job Title: Application Support Engineer

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide software application support, troubleshooting and bug fixing related to the maintained Software Applications.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science or a related field with at least 2 years of working experience in software application development.

  • Provide software application support, troubleshooting and bug fixing related to the maintained Software Applications.
  • Involve in implementation of application enhancements as and when required.
  • Communicate with end users, IT teams and support engineers from other application vendors to understand production issues and advise them on solutions.
  • Resolve incidents and recover services within contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
  • Work with other team members to rectify production issues.
  • Document and track incidents and provide regular progress updates.
  • Coordinate system maintenance and upgrade activities such as monthly maintenance, patching, hotfix testing and deployments.
  • Perform impact analysis and post-installation verification test on OS patches/updates and Software patches deployments.

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma in Computer Science or a related field with at least 2 years of working experience in software application development.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, PHP, Python, C#.Net, SQL/PLSQL, APIs (RESTful and SOAP) and shell scripting.
  • Proficient in database management (SQL Server, MySQL and Microsoft Access), operational systems (LINUX and Windows Server), Application Servers (Apache Tomcat, WAMP and WebSphere).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written) and strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proven experience in application support and user query management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality.
  • Team player with fast learning skills.
  • Able to work in shifts to provide 24/7 support onsite.
