Front Office Leadership

The Front Office Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of the front desk. This includes leading the team to guarantee that reception operations run smoothly at all times and supporting receptionists in their daily tasks.

On a broader scale, the Front Office Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all hotel guests receive a warm welcome and are assisted with exceptional service at all times.

  • The Front Office Supervisor must be able to assist the Duty Manager in reviewing the staffing roster at the commencement of each shift to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • They must also be able to assist the Guest Service Executive in resolving any operational issues that may arise.
  • A key aspect of this role is controlling room inventory and managing allocations according to hotel directives.
  • The Front Office Supervisor must work closely with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned on time and departures are checked out efficiently.
  • Furthermore, they must be proficient in using the PMS (Opera) system and be able to train others to do so.
  • The Front Office Supervisor promotes strong working relations and ensures that their shift/team runs smoothly.
  • They must identify the person being spoken to and direct the guest accordingly.
  • Additionally, the Front Office Supervisor must monitor performance standards and report any issues/concerns as needed.
  • They are also responsible for assisting the Duty Manager in handling guest requests and complaints.
  • Finally, the Front Office Supervisor must be able to train new team members and promote the company's loyalty programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is an asset
  • A service-focused personality is essential
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
