BIM Specialist Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Specialist to join our team.

We are looking for an experienced Building Information Modelling (BIM) specialist to create detailed 3D models using BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks. This involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and other professionals to gather all necessary information to create accurate models.

The role of a BIM Specialist is to create detailed 3D models for construction projects. The successful candidate will have strong skills in utilizing BIM software and excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create Detailed Models: Utilize BIM software to create comprehensive 3D models for construction projects.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of models and specifications.
  • Model Updates and Maintenance: Update and modify models as per revised plans and specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate and extract 2D drawings and details from the 3D models for construction documentation.
  • Clash Detection and Resolution: Run clash detection and generate clash reports to facilitate coordination meetings.
  • BIM Standards and Compliance: Ensure that all models are compliant with the project BIM standards and protocols.
  • Technical Support and Development: Utilize BIM software to assist with scheduling, cost estimation, and material tracking.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Development: Maintain the project's BIM library by creating and updating BIM families and contribute to the development and enhancement of BIM standards and best practices within the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in BIM Software: Strong skills in utilizing BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in model creation and updates.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve clashes and other issues.
