Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Job Title:
Occupational Health and Safety CoordinatorAs an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of personnel and the environment on our worksites. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and maintain effective OHS systems and procedures that align with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain OHS policies, procedures, and programs that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Investigate all incidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and implement measures to prevent re-occurrence.
- Provide training and awareness programs to employees on OHS issues, including hazard recognition, risk assessment, and control measures.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, injuries, and illnesses, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with management and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to improve OHS performance and reduce risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to OHS, including ISO 45001.
Requirements:
- Certification in OHS or a related field (e.g., WSH Level B or C).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in OHS or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
