Job Title

"Occupational Health and Safety Specialist"

  • Ensure a safe working environment by dealing with all matters pertaining to Workplace Occupational Health and Safety of the project site.
  • Conduct regular mass toolbox meetings to promote awareness among staff and workers.
  • Organize and chair monthly WSH committee meetings to discuss safety concerns and progress on control measures.
  • Carry out weekly site inspections to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address unsafe work practices and conditions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of control measures, and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Ensure that all personnel on site comply with in-house rules and regulations.
  • Verify that all activities and procedures conform to statutory requirements.
  • Review and update Safe Work Procedures and Risk Assessments to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Provide training and create awareness on safety measurements among staff and workers.
  • Present (Safety Management System) to clients and consultants.
  • Promote a safety culture and attitude among staff and workers.
  • Evaluate the safety performance of subcontractors.
  • Maintain and conduct risk assessments.
  • Initiate and follow up on corrective actions and non-conformities.
  • Analyze incidents and accidents, and prepare reports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in building construction industry.
  • Diploma in Engineering/Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
