Role Summary

This internship is designed to provide a student with hands-on experience in the food and beverage industry, supporting the Front of House team at Marina Bay Sands.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Front of House team to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Upsell and promote chef-recommended dishes and specials to drive revenue growth.
  • Cater to patrons' food and beverage needs, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to improving the Net Promoter Score by soliciting patron feedback and implementing improvements.
  • Interact with casino patrons to deliver outstanding service and build a positive reputation for the outlet.
  • Streamline processes between the kitchen and floor by communicating effectively with the back-of-house team.
  • Develop skills in managing a small section or team during operational shifts.
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance, including responsible service of alcohol protocols.
  • Attend meetings as needed to understand the business and internal stakeholders' roles.

Requirements:

Education & Certification:

  • Applicants must be full-time, matriculated students aged 21 and above, with a valid GRA License for selected applicants.
  • The internship should contribute to school graduation requirements.

Competencies:

  • A strong hospitality mindset and a willingness to serve.
  • An open mind and deep curiosity to learn.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in difficult situations.
  • A team-oriented approach to working with others.
  • Energetic and excellent communication skills.
  • A well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Fluent English and ideally Chinese, with additional languages beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Aged 21 and above, willing to work in a smoking environment with 24-hour operating hours.
