The Safety and Reliability of Railway Infrastructure is our top priority.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an Engineering Expert to lead the enhancement of our railway infrastructure system's safety and reliability by improving workflow effectiveness and efficiency in inspection, maintenance, and other supplementary activities.

This role involves conducting defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, engineering studies, maintenance/renewal planning, asset management planning, supply chain management planning, and developing solutions to identified problems.

You will provide technical advice to team members and resolve complex issues related to railway infrastructure and frontline engineering train faults.

Additionally, you will engage with and manage contractors and stakeholders to ensure standards and quality are met. You may conduct training, assessments, and develop training materials as needed.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution. Previous railway system experience is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in any depot, track, or facility
  • Support the division's efforts to achieve daily, short-term, and long-term objectives and KPIs
  • Ensure the timely completion of all duties and projects assigned
  • Collaborate effectively with Operations and Maintenance staff, as well as other engineering and project departments
  • Identify safety and reliability concerns and develop solutions
  • Draft technical work instructions for maintenance activities and quality procedures
  • Propose and implement cost-effective technologies and process changes to enhance system performance
  • Assist in planning annual budgets and work plans
  • Report safety concerns at the workplace

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work hands-on in office and site environments
  • Skilled in diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Weibull analysis, and Damage Tolerance Analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Python and MATLAB is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and planning skills
