Job Title: Railway Infrastructure System Enhancement Specialist

The successful candidate will lead the enhancement of railway infrastructure system safety and reliability by improving workflow effectiveness and efficiency in inspection, maintenance, and other supplementary activities.

Key responsibilities include conducting defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, engineering studies, maintenance/renewal planning, asset management planning, supply chain management planning, and developing solutions to problem statements identified.

Additional duties may include providing technical advice to team members, resolving complex issues pertaining to railway infrastructure and/or frontline engineering train faults, engaging and managing contractors and stakeholders to ensure operating standards and quality standards are achieved.

Subject to business needs, professional development, and/or succession planning, the successful candidate may be rotated within or across divisions.

">

Essential qualifications include a degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Previous railway system experience would be advantageous.

">

Desirable skills include strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work hands-on in office and site environments alongside other engineers, assistant engineers, and technical officers.

Proficiency in diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis, and Damage Tolerance Analysis is also essential.

Adeptness at Microsoft Office applications and proficiency in Python and MATLAB would be advantageous.

Effective organizational and planning skills, as well as fluent written and oral communication skills in English, are also required.

  • Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines)
  • Support division efforts to achieve daily, short-term, and long-term objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure timely completion of all duties and/or projects assigned
  • Work effectively with Ops and Maintenance staff from Lines as well as other engineering and projects departments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient daily operations
  • Identify safety and reliability concerns of the railway infrastructure system and develop solutions to overcome them
  • Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities and/or quality procedures
  • Identify, propose, and implement cost-effective technologies, and/or changes to process and/or maintenance regime to enhance railway infrastructure system performance
  • Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for safety, reliability, maintainability, and operability
  • Assist in planning of annual budget and workplan for his/her unit
  • Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace
  • Undertake any other tasks or functions that are supplementary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor
