Lead Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist

Job Description:

The Lead Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for enhancing the safety and reliability of the railway infrastructure system by leading workflow effectiveness and efficiency improvement of its inspection, maintenance, and other supplementary activities.

The scope can include the track, third rail, point, viaduct, tunnel, station, and/or depot infrastructure assets. The successful candidate will conduct defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, engineering studies, maintenance/renewal planning, asset management planning, supply chain management planning, and/or develop solutions to problem statements identified.

Additionally, the specialist will provide technical advice to team members as well as resolve complex issues pertaining to the railway infrastructure and/or frontline engineering train faults.

Other responsibilities include identifying safety and reliability concerns of the railway infrastructure system and developing solutions, drafting technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities and/or quality procedures, identifying, proposing, and implementing cost-effective technologies, and/or changes to process and/or maintenance regime to enhance railway infrastructure system performance.

The specialist will also support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability, and operability.

Key skills required include strong leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to work hands-on in office and site environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Technical Officers, adeptness with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis, and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc., proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and proficiency in Python and MATLAB.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution and previous railway system experience would be advantageous.
