Job Description:
As a Principal Research Scientist, you will play a crucial role in guiding the centre of excellence towards achieving its vision and mission. Your key responsibilities include supporting the Director in providing strategic direction and leadership to guide the centre of excellence in achieving its vision and mission. You will also offer scientific insights and strategic direction for research collaborations with industry partners under the guidance of the Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Director in providing strategic direction and leadership to guide the centre of excellence in achieving its vision and mission.
  • Offer scientific insights and strategic direction for research collaborations with industry partners under the guidance of the Director.
  • Contribute to planning, strategizing, and implementing frameworks and processes to meet the center's milestones and goals alongside the Director.
  • Lead research programs focused on emerging technologies and talent development.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external collaborators to achieve common objectives.
  • Mentor, coach, and support researchers and PhD students.

Job Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD degree from a world-leading university, preferably in a field related to Computer Science/Engineering, with at least 20 years' experience in a research-intensive educational and research environment.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in managing executive and professional programmes.
  • Possess significant experience as a subject matter expert in digital technologies, cross-disciplinary areas, etc.
  • Have substantial experience in supervising and mentoring research staff and students.
  • Showcase significant experience and success in leading strategic collaborations.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communications, along with strong interpersonal skills.
