Job Title: Family Support Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our team as a Family Support Specialist. In this role, you will provide support to vulnerable families and individuals through casework, counselling, groupwork, and community work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Casework and Counselling:
    • Assess risks inherent in cases by integrating multiple sources of information.
    • Use professional tools and templates to guide staff in case assessment and planning.
    • Represent the organization in its advocacy efforts for vulnerable families, aiming to advocate for equal opportunities through collaborative practice with community partners.
  • Groupwork and Community Work:
    • Participate in client/community assessments, group/community work processes, and specialized intervention strategies.
  • Operational Managerial Skills:
    • SUPPORT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PRACTICE PROTOCOLS, PROCESSES, AND POLICIES.
    • Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution/ Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Inclination towards research and planning is an advantage.
  • Possess strong relational skills to effectively network with government agencies, churches, and community partners.
  • Ability to understand client groups and manage risk and protective factors.
  • Ability to demonstrate reflective practice.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and partners.
  • Knowledge and application of code of professional ethics and Code of Social Work Practice.
  • Competent in MS Office skills.
