Job Overview:We are seeking a seasoned Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and elevate our barbeque offerings. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented culinary professional to showcase their expertise and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:- Menu Development & Innovation:
- Create, design, and update seasonal menus that incorporate bold flavors and innovative techniques using woodfire cooking methods.
- Develop special menu items that highlight the restaurant's unique offerings, including dishes prepared with grilling and smoking techniques.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, train, and mentor a high-performing kitchen team, fostering a collaborative work environment that emphasizes continuous learning and improvement.
- Ensure the kitchen staff is well-versed in woodfire cooking techniques, maintaining a high level of culinary knowledge and expertise.
- Quality Control & Food Safety:
- Maintain strict standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene within the kitchen at all times.
- Monitor food quality and consistency, ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant's high standards before reaching the guests.
- Inventory & Cost Management:
- Manage inventory levels, control food costs, and minimize waste by optimizing kitchen operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients, particularly fresh meats, vegetables, and wood for grilling.
- Collaboration & Guest Experience:
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and dining area.
- Participate in live cooking demonstrations and guest interactions to enhance the dining experience.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Plan kitchen workflows to ensure efficient food preparation while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Monitor kitchen equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality for woodfire and grilling operations.
- A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Culinary Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene is required.
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, preferably in a barbeque or woodfire-focused dining establishment.
- Creative culinary skills, with the ability to design and execute innovative menus.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing kitchen team.
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and sanitation regulations.
The estimated salary range for this position is SGD $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
