Department Overview

The Credit and Risk Management division is structured into three specialized teams: Risk Management, Credit, and Special Asset Management. Our primary responsibility is to manage the risks associated with the Group's business operations, adhering to the risk appetite set forth by the Board. This includes the identification and assessment of risks, the formulation of effective risk governance strategies, and the provision of independent evaluations of the overall risk profile.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will integrate into the Group Credit Policy & Governance (CPG) team, which provides Line 2 Oversight for the Personal Financial Services (PFS) Loans Portfolio within UOB Group. Reporting directly to the Team Lead, the individual will:

  • Assist in the integration and transition of the Citi portfolio into UOB under the Policy & Portfolio Management framework, collaborating with various sub-streams and stakeholders to ensure a seamless process.
  • Monitor and track consolidated RRA and RDF metrics along with Credit KPIs across regional entities.
  • Conduct oversight of the portfolio quality in regional markets, identifying key and emerging risks to maintain sound portfolio integrity.
  • Support the preparation and reporting for the Quarterly Credit Review of the Retail Portfolio, engaging with Senior Management and the Group Credit Committee.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects aligned with the Group CPG Collective Agenda.
  • Contribute to the standardization and enhancement of the Management Information System (MIS) pack across various countries as part of portfolio management strategy.
  • Engage in the development, review, implementation, and monitoring of scorecards, credit bureau strategies, and other risk management tools to ensure the acquisition of high-quality customers.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in retail banking, with a focus on credit risk policy, management information systems, and portfolio oversight.
  • A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or Finance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with portfolio monitoring, segmentation strategies, Basel Capital Rules, credit scorecards, and analytical techniques.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SAS Programming, Enterprise Guide, Decision Tree tools, and SQL databases.
  • Experience in a regional role with insights into country-specific business and regulatory environments is advantageous.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, business acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and self-motivation. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Audit review experience and quality assurance expertise are considered a plus.
  • A proactive learner, eager to engage in ad hoc projects and initiatives.
