Department Overview
The Group Risk Analytics division is a diverse team dedicated to overseeing comprehensive risk management models throughout UOB. This team is responsible for validating a variety of risk and measurement models that are essential for evaluating and managing credit, market/treasury, anti-money laundering (AML), and balance sheet risks across the bank's international operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent validation of both new and existing credit risk models and interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) models.
- Provide constructive challenges regarding all facets of credit risk and IRRBB models, including theoretical foundations, model assumptions, design, data inputs, modeling processes, and outcomes.
- Conduct qualitative assessments of the model development process, focusing on underlying assumptions and theoretical frameworks.
- Execute quantitative evaluations of model performance through data analysis and statistical testing.
- Clearly communicate validation findings and offer well-founded recommendations to ensure thorough challenges.
- Effectively relay model validation results to various stakeholders and management teams.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD/Master/Bachelor) in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Proficient in SAS and Python programming languages.
- At least 6 years of experience in credit risk management or data analytics within the banking sector.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, with a self-motivated and resourceful approach.
- Strong numerical aptitude coupled with a robust analytical mindset.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and proficient in business report writing.
