Job Title: Lay Executive Staff">

The role of the Lay Executive Staff is to provide leadership and support to the church in its various ministries. This includes working closely with the pastors and chairpersons to strategize, plan, and organize programs that align with the church's strategic directions.

As a member of the Lay Executive Staff, you will be responsible for providing pastoral care and nurturing to church members in their relevant journeys within the children, discipleship and nurture, and missions ministries. You will also participate in the corporate life and activities of the church, including church services when appointed to do so.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist in resourcing and developing materials and curricula for the ministries' purposes, as well as provide training to equip leaders and members in areas such as children, discipleship and nurture, and missions.

You will also be responsible for organizing events for bonding and team building among members of the children, discipleship and nurture, and missions ministries. Furthermore, you will assist the chairpersons in the administration and running of the relevant programs.

It is essential to note that the Lay Executive Staff may have to coordinate with external agencies from time to time to effect the ministries of children, discipleship and nurture, and missions.

To ensure the success of these ministries, it is crucial to continually evaluate the needs of the church and improve or change existing programs and procedures. Additionally, you will identify new opportunities to strengthen the church's strategic thrust in these areas.

As part of your role, you will provide care and support to members of the children, discipleship and nurture, and missions ministries, encouraging all to pray for the work of these ministries within the church.

It is expected that the Lay Executive Staff will plan, communicate, and prepare for ministry during office hours. However, they should also be prepared to facilitate ministry activities on certain evenings and weekends, whenever necessary. Any involvement beyond the required 5½ day week will be compensated accordingly with time-off or a day off-in-lieu, in the following week.

Other duties may be assigned by the reporting officer.

Requirements:

  • Qualification - Minimum of a theological certificate from a recognised seminary or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience - At least 1 year of relevant ministry experience preferred.
  • Special Aptitude - The LES should have good organisational, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, and be a team player who possesses a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
