Job Summary:

The Sous Chef is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for leading the kitchen team and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is an exciting opportunity to join The Standard Hotel as a Sous Chef and contribute to our commitment to excellence in culinary service.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of menu items, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Develop and implement menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
  • Coordinate kitchen operations, including inventory management, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Train and mentor team members, providing guidance on culinary techniques and kitchen protocols.
  • Ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma/Certification in Culinary Arts or Management.
  • Proven experience in a Japanese restaurant/Izakaya.
  • Additional certifications in culinary will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar luxury hotel environment.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and training skills.
  • Ability to work well in stressful and high-pressure situations.
