We are seeking an accomplished Lead Navigation Engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge autonomous navigation systems.

Job Summary:

This is a pivotal role that demands expertise in creating robust and scalable navigation solutions. As a key member of our team, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of complex navigation algorithms, ensuring seamless integration with various sensors and hardware components.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SLAM, path planning, obstacle avoidance, and real-time system software development. A deep understanding of robotics and computer vision principles is essential, along with hands-on expertise in C++ programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement advanced navigation stacks using ROS 2, leveraging state-of-the-art techniques such as behavior trees and modern software engineering practices.
  • Develop and optimize sensor fusion algorithms for accurate pose estimation, dynamic obstacle avoidance, and efficient decision-making.
  • Create safety-critical interrupt handling mechanisms for emergency stops, collision prevention, and recovery behaviors.
  • Architect scalable and modular ROS 2-based navigation software, utilizing behavior trees for task-level decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination between navigation and other operational systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • PhD or MS in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in robotics navigation (SLAM, path planning, obstacle avoidance).
  • Expertise in C++, ROS 2, and modern software architecture (OOP, design patterns).
  • Strong background in LiDAR-based SLAM and path planners, including experience with behavior trees.
  • Familiarity with sensor fusion techniques and wheel odometry tuning.
  • Knowledge of Mecanum wheel kinematics and holonomic motion planning.
