Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative pastry and bakery menus that meet the needs of our guests and exceed their expectations.
  • Lead and manage a team of pastry chefs to ensure efficient and effective production of pastry and bakery products.
  • Ensure that all pastry and bakery products meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other culinary team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all pastry and bakery products meet the required standards.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for pastry chefs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in pastry and bakery products, and incorporate them into our menu offerings.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are properly maintained and cleaned to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
  • Manage inventory and supplies to ensure that all pastry and bakery products are available in sufficient quantities.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control measures to ensure that pastry and bakery products are produced within budget.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to source high-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Ensure that all pastry and bakery products are presented in an attractive and appealing manner to meet the expectations of our guests.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in Pastry or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end hotel or restaurant.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing innovative pastry and bakery menus that meet the needs of guests.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of pastry chefs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the Executive Chef, other culinary team members, and external suppliers.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, and the ability to ensure that all pastry and bakery products meet the required standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
