About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Counsellor to join our team. As a Senior Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing counselling services to seniors and their families affected by grief and loss, transitions relating to older age, and caregiver challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Casework and Counselling: Provide individual and group counselling sessions to clients in need of support.
  • Manage Information and Referrals: Coordinate referrals for casework and counselling services, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of support.
  • Caregiver Support: Lead training workshops, caregiver support groups, and public education presentations on mental health, promoting healthy functioning, stability, and self-reliance among seniors and caregivers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Counselling or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant casework/counselling experience with diverse client backgrounds, including seniors, adults, families, and couples.
  • Accredited membership of SASW and/or clinical membership of SAC, preferably Registered Clinical Supervisor of SAC.
  • Leadership experience, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective strategies.
