The role of a technical support specialist involves providing assistance to users with their computer systems, networks, and software. This includes troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support for computers, networks, and business applications
- Making updates or changes to company systems as needed
- Setting up computers with standard company software
- Installing and configuring hardware and software for users efficiently and professionally

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of desktop support and LAN/WiFi systems
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, Windows, Mac, and common software
- Familiarity with smartphones/tablets, Android, and iOS devices
- Good experience using video conferencing tools like Zoom and MS Teams
- Hands-on experience with Office 365 and Azure admin portals
It would be beneficial to have the following qualifications and experience:
- IT/engineering related diploma from polytechnic or degree from university
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or COMPTIA certification
- ITIL Foundation V4 certification
You should also possess strong analytical, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager-to-learn skills, with excellent people, communication, and presentation skills. Experience with Power Automate, Python, and PowerShell is a plus.
