MINDS seeks to empower Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWIDs) and enhance their quality of life through community-based services.
We are looking for a Job Coach who will work closely with teachers, caregivers, and employers to prepare students for job attachments and placements.
MINDS provides a holistic range of services including schools, employment and training development centres, home-based care services, and community-based services to cater to the physical, psychological, environmental, and social needs of PWIDs.Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with teachers and staff to develop students' confidence and interest in jobs before attachments;
- Source and arrange job attachment opportunities for students;
- Negotiate employment terms with employers after attachments;
- Provide continued support and guidance to students during job attachments;
- Develop training plans and materials for students to prepare them for work with accommodations where necessary.
Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with excellent people skills, willing to think outside the box when working with people with intellectual disabilities. The Job Coach must be able to analyse and evaluate the suitability of job sites, prepare students for job attachments, and plan and coordinate work exposure activities such as learning journeys and job shadowing.
The successful candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in any discipline and at least 2 years of working experience. As a team player, you will work collaboratively with school staff, families, and employers to support students during job attachments and make them work-ready. You will also contribute to developing vocational curriculum and resources for students.
