Senior Support Specialist

This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting seniors and enhancing their quality of life.

As a Senior Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing supportive services to seniors at our sheltered homes and community settings.

Your primary focus will be on maintaining a safe and clean living environment, engaging residents in activities, and partnering with colleagues to provide holistic care.

You will also assist seniors with monitoring their health, administering medication, and coordinating their medical appointments.

Additionally, you will facilitate seniors' access to essential social and healthcare services and track visitors' activity through our visitor log book.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience in administration and community healthcare settings is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean living environment for seniors
  • Engage residents in activities and raise concerns to social workers or Head of Home
  • Partner with colleagues to provide holistic care for seniors
  • Assist seniors with monitoring their health and administering medication
  • Coordinate seniors' medical appointments and maintain their movement logs
  • Facilitate seniors' access to essential social and healthcare services
  • Track visitors' activity through our visitor log book

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in administration and community healthcare settings (preferred)
  • Diploma/Certificate in social work/psychology/sociology/gerontology/counselling/nursing or equivalent
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Good record-keeping abilities and attention to detail

Additional Advantages:

  • Ability to speak multiple languages (English, Mandarin, Malay, Chinese dialects)

Other Information:

  • Conduct home visits and outreach activities to the community
  • Other ad-hoc assignments at the discretion of program lead/Department head
