Job Title: Assistant Vice President, Senior Application Support Engineer

At SMBC Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Support Engineer to join our Digital Platform System team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and readiness of our production systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide L2 support and troubleshooting for production incidents and critical system interfaces through Workflow and Automation systems.
  • Collaborate with the Incident Manager to identify and implement preventive and detective measures for applications, providing root cause analysis.
  • Support the IT Planner in meeting project objectives and performing production transitions for new system launches and system change requests.
  • Propose improvements for systems based on identified process gaps.
  • Standardize processes through developing implementation, integration, and documentation in accordance with set standards.
  • Identify and propose suitable processes for automation and implementation.
  • Lead and coordinate projects, providing analytical support and executing requirement analysis to support system enhancement, fixes, and emergency application changes deployment.
  • Highlight and escalate risk issues to relevant parties in a timely manner.
  • Participate in system restoration for Disaster Recovery exercises.
  • Coordinate regular meetings for issue resolution with developers.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in the Application or System Support function, preferably in a bank or financial institution.
  • Hands-on experience in supporting Workflow and Automation systems.
  • Experience in Enterprise Application support environment with interaction with multiple functions (developer, infrastructure, and service desk) and business users.
  • Functional knowledge of Digitalization systems (such as Customer onboarding, Funding Charges, Data Management).
  • Technical knowledge of Applications hosted in both Windows and LINUX, able to perform database queries (SQL Server, ORACLE) and handling application services under Windows Services and LINUX application services.
  • Good understanding and competency in scripting (such as DOS, UNIX, or VBA).
  • Self-motivated and driven work ethic to ensure high-quality work in a timely manner.
  • Collaborative team player with presentable interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of results.
  • Sound judgment in reviewing problems and making recommendations/decisions.
