Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support Engineer to join our team at DBS Bank. As a key member of our Group Technology and Operations team, you will play a critical role in the development and support of multiple applications using the latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement solutions for multiple applications, working closely with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless support for the business.
  • Manage the implementation of new application releases, adhering to best practices of the release management process.
  • Collaborate with various partners, including peer application teams, infrastructure, vendors, security, and change teams, to provide exceptional support for the business.
  • Respond to production issues in a timely manner, adhering to the Service Level Agreement with the business.
  • Enhance existing development, release, and support processes to maintain and improve service levels and quality.
  • Conduct unit testing using automated unit test frameworks.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation action plans, continually improving and re-engineering build and delivery pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and build and deployment scripts.
  • Utilize dev-ops tools and frameworks to monitor applications and build recovery processes.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders in agile teams.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in application development and support.
  • Core technical competencies required: Java,.Net (C#), SQL, shell scripts, PowerShell, Avaloq, Spring boot, Hibernate, Apache Karaf, React, JavaScript/jQuery, MariaDB, MS SQL, Oracle, and Neo4j.
  • Good to have experience: OpenShift, ELK, application monitoring tools, cloud technologies, and Python.
  • Education: Preferably Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Tech.
  • Experience in development, delivering financial domain projects, and providing BAU support to mission-critical applications in the banking domain.
  • Experience in conducting unit testing using automated unit test frameworks.
  • Experience using dev-ops tools and frameworks to monitor applications.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to work with other teams and multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently with a can-do mindset and minimal supervision.
  • Good problem-solving and process improvement skills.
  • Meticulous, detailed, and logical in thought process; able to articulate clearly and have good written communication skills.
