Job Description

As a Business Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying emerging business opportunities and developing strategic plans to capitalize on them. This involves conducting market analysis, building relationships with external contacts, and communicating findings to senior leadership.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, disruptions, and potential threats to the current business.
  • Opportunity Identification: Continuously scan the IoT ecosystem to identify emerging technologies, new business models, competitor moves, and untapped market whitespaces.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop insightful research and synthesis reports on long-term trends, disruptions, and potential threats to the current business.
  • Business Case Development: Develop robust financial models and business cases to assess the market size, potential ROI, and strategic value of new opportunities.
  • Incubation & Business Building: Lead the initial incubation phase, including defining initial product-market fit, building minimal viable products (MVPs) or prototypes, and running pilot programs with early customers.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a strategy role such as corporate strategy, venture capital, management consulting, product management, or business development within a technology context.
  • Proven experience in market analysis, new venture development, or managing early-stage innovation projects.
  • Deep understanding of the IoT technology stack, competitive landscape, and key market drivers.
  • Superior analytical and financial modeling skills, with experience building business cases from the ground up.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to thrive in ambiguity, developing structure around poorly defined problems.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
