Senior Vice President, Credit Management and Quality Assurance Lead

DBS Bank's Risk Management Group plays a crucial role in managing the bank's risk exposure by striking a balance between maximizing returns and maintaining an acceptable risk profile. We collaborate closely with our business partners to provide financing, investments, and hedging opportunities to our customers. To achieve this, we invest heavily in our people and infrastructure, ensuring we have the necessary skills and knowledge to manage risk effectively and run a successful business.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for quality assurance activities, cost management initiatives, and training programs within the credit department.
- Drive excellence, optimize costs, and ensure credit staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy, policies, and procedures specific to credit-related processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Oversee quality control processes for credit applications, post-approval activities, and collection control to identify areas for improvement and maintain high-quality standards.
- Collaborate widely with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions, preventive measures, and continuous improvement initiatives within the credit department.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, assessments, and remediation plans related to credit processes and operations.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure credit policies and regulations are effectively implemented and communicated across the credit department.
- Identify training needs and design relevant programs to enhance or develop relevant credit skills.
- Monitor key control indicators, cost management initiatives, and training programs within the credit department.
Requirements
- A recognized degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in credit operations management, quality assurance, and compliance within the consumer banking industry.
- Strong knowledge of credit processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record in leading teams and driving operational efficiency within the credit department.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance strategies and policies.
- Familiarity with audit management, compliance, and credit policy governance.
- Ability to monitor performance through KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Leadership skills to provide strategic direction and inspire high performance.
