Commercial Contracts Leader

Are you a seasoned contracts expert looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Director to lead our team in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, Contract Managers, and support staff.
  • Provide strategic input on contractual risk, procurement strategy, and commercial performance.
  • Oversee tender documentation, cost estimates, and procurement strategies.
  • Advise on contract conditions and participate in risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure alignment of contract terms with company policies and project objectives.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, valuations, and cost reporting.
  • Manage claims, variations, extensions of time (EOTs), and final account settlements.
  • Oversee subcontract administration, including award, payments, and closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and statutory requirements.
  • Provide commercial leadership across multiple ongoing projects.
  • Ensure consistent application of contractual and commercial best practices.
  • Liaise with project directors and delivery teams to resolve disputes and commercial issues.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience:
    Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in contracts management within the construction industry.
    At least 5 years in a senior contracts leadership role, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor in Singapore.
    Proven experience managing both HDB and private sector projects (e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure).
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore's construction laws, building codes, and contract standards.
  • Experience in both pre- and post-contracts lifecycle.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
