Back Office Chargeback Manager

The role of Chargeback Specialist is a critical component in the Cards Operations – Chargeback Unit of a major retail bank. As a key player in this unit, you will be responsible for processing chargebacks — disputes raised by customers regarding credit/debit card transactions.
Job Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing various chargeback scenarios to determine the validity of each case.
- Processing chargeback requests in the bank's internal systems to recover funds or reject claims if invalid.
- Performing data entry, managing documentation, and supporting project-related tasks to maintain accurate records and support team operations.
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of cases within strict timelines (Service Level Agreement) set by regulators or card schemes.
- Resolving customer and internal queries related to chargeback cases.
Key Requirements:
- A recognized diploma with relevant skills and knowledge.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to change and diversity in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze issues objectively and think creatively.
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality mindset.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills to drive outcomes through influence and negotiation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
