Railway Infrastructure Development Manager

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in railway engineering and construction projects. They must have experience in managing complex infrastructure projects, specifically railway renewal projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Organize and control site meetings with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure timely project completion.
- Coordinate access with SMRT for railway construction works and develop effective strategies to minimize delays.
- Plan and execute the replacement of railway systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Review and approve survey reports to validate project scope and identify potential risks.
- Oversee Handback Engineers to ensure successful handover of projects to clients.
- Check information sufficiency for construction and develop strategies to address any knowledge gaps.
- Liaise with clients and consultants regarding discrepancies in drawings and specifications, negotiating mutually beneficial solutions.
- Issue Request for Information (RFI) to clients and operators, facilitating open communication and cooperation.
- Propose effective construction methods to enhance productivity and quality at reduced costs, leveraging expertise in railway engineering and construction.
- Control material wastages and optimize resource allocation to maximize project efficiency.
- Plan and organize daily site activities, ensuring seamless execution and minimizing disruptions.
- Monitor and review project scope, adjusting plans as needed to meet evolving project requirements.
- Collect and control engineering information, maintaining accurate records and facilitating knowledge sharing across teams.
- Respond to Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), resolving issues promptly and ensuring continued project progress.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in railway engineering, with a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Railway Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience managing construction teams for similar-scale railway projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Experience in railway renewal projects during engineering hours, with a deep understanding of the complexities involved.
- Proven technical, engineering, and managerial experience, with a focus on strategic planning and risk management.
- Knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards, with a commitment to upholding best practices.
