Database Specialist Position

We are seeking an experienced Database Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage database changes through the change request process and provide status reports to relevant parties.
  • Participate in development projects, including logical and physical database design.
  • Assist with and promptly respond to incidents; investigate and provide temporary and/or permanent resolutions for escalated incidents.
  • Involve in performance tuning, performance management, and database setup.
  • Monitor and measure the performance and availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions to improve performance and availability.
  • Monitor agreed service levels, document and maintain database configurations; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
  • Ensure service level requirements are met.
  • Propose and implement action plans when required.
  • Lead and monitor databases according to standard operating procedures.
  • Implement service continuity measures, such as backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans, to ensure continuous business operation.
  • Involve in database implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related discipline.
  • More than 3 years of experience in installing, configuring, and managing SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with SQL Server Clustering and AlwaysOn Availability Group setup and management.
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging complex SQL statements, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Expertise in database performance monitoring and tuning using SQL Server Tools like Profiler Trace, SQL Statistics, and Execution Plan.
  • Experience in setting up and managing database replication is a value-add.
